Good sub

pet has learned in her multitude of text materials about being a good sub and what a good sub should be. While pet is still absorbing information like the good sub sponge she is, she can't help but wish to share this information. The pronoun for female has been used in this context because pet is speaking from her point of view....which as you know is all female. :)

A good sub:
  • Respects herself for who she is and what she has to offer the world around her
  • Real abuse (as opposed to the fantasy/scene type) is never tolerated
  • Excellent sense of reality vs. fantasy. sub must know what is part of the scene, what isn't and know when the facade of fantasy is lifted, it's back to reality!
  • Doesn't look for a Dom/me to take over her life but enhance it, improve it, add value to it
  • Someone the Dom/me can trust will not blur the lines of fantasy and reality and cry rape/abuse later when things don't go as intended or don't go her way
  • Wise. she must have excellent communications skills. she must be able to open and honest with what her wants are and what pleases her.
  • Isn't demanding. Pushiness on either side of a D/s relationship is typically a huge turn off for either power position.
  • Compatible with her Dom/me. Why push something that clearly is not working or going to work? Clearly you can modify someones behavior but to try to change the core of their being is frustrating for both. If it's not working, move on.
This information was extrapolated from an excellent print resource, "Screw the Roses, Give Me the Thorns" by Philip Miller and Molly Devon.

The book is filled with a great deal of excellent information and a rather too-easy read.

pet finds herself a little bored with the ease of the read of this book. She prefers much more technical and intellectually stimulating reference material. This book, although "lol" funny to read in some places, still lacks the intellectual challenege that pet desires. pet enjoyes books (and people too) that really get into her head and challenge her to use her skills to their fullest. To me, this book was brain candy. Better suited for someone new to the genre. While pet is new the scene, she did land on your doorstep with a great deal of intelligence.
