Pondering
pet spent a little time with PuP and Mouse today. It was nice. pet finished a great deal of continuing education credits for her national credential.....and she read.
pet picked up a fictional book that she is enjoying. It is slow to start, but interesting as a fantasy novel. This book is about a young girl that has a blood mark in her iris. It's referred to in the book as Kuthiel's Dart. She is considered flawed and her mother sells her to a house in the hopes to give her a better life and prepare her for a house a royalty. Her mother didn't make much because of the flaw. However the house that she is in is a sort of preparatory place for her to learn to serve. To learn to be submissive. A poet is invited to come in and view her. She is seven when this particular poet views her and it is then revealed that Kuthiel's Dart is not a flaw...but a mark to be cherished and revered. He buys her marque and will claim her when she is older and has more training.
When she comes of age, she is welcomed to her new house and something profound happens during a verbal exchange between she and her new Master. In her old house she is taught to kneel, sit on the floor, and basically behave as chattel.
Her Master states to her:
"We do not stand-nor kneel- on ceremony in my household, Phedre. It is one thing to observe the courtesies of rank and quite another to treat humans as chattel."
Phedre:
"You own my marque."
Master:
"Yes, but I do not own you." "When your marque is made, I would have you remember me as one who lifted you up and not cast you down."
This is much like O/our relationship. While Master wishes not to have a slave...but a submissive...when she becomes collared and owned by You, it will not be in such a way that pet would be cast down or belittled. Everything that Master has done thus far has been to the betterment of His beloved pet.
So, while when W/we attend events, it is expected for pet to observe the protocols of a D/s relationship, she knows Master is not disrespecting her. pet wishes to be the submissive she is meant to be. pet is headstrong at times and our conversation yesterday reiterated that. Sadly, perhaps at times pet does behave in a manner that is less than becoming and it may appear she is someone that isn't meant to be collared. pet supposes W/we shall see what the future brings. pet does hope for a collar...she does wish to be owned by her Master. she loves him. Wishes to be an asset to O/our relationship and not a hindrance.
