On Learning

Master,

You asked a poignant question of pet today. In all her studies, what has she learned of herself?

pet has been pondering this question because my immediate response was quite inadequate in my eyes. pet knows not what Master thought of her answer but that is not for her to figure out. Master shares information and his thoughts, when and if the time is right and when and if that time comes.

pet is realizing, that since our D/s relationship began that she is valuable. Not only to her family, but to the world around her. That is only one of the many things she has learned. Today, it is most true and speaks to her loudly today. Not for any particular reason but to say she touches so many lives in all she does.

In her studies, she is finding that the D/s relationship and her submission to her Master is filling a void that has been a constant presence for so very many years. pet has always been driven and focused on the "prize". pet has forever worked towards being the best at whatever she does. So, in studying and reading the many books she has on submission, slavery, and BDSM in general, she has noted that being a submissive and serving the one she loves, her Master, is filling that void. To surrender is empowering. pet finds herself stronger knowing she is adored by her Master. Knowing that in all she does while away from him, it is a reflection on him and she strives to always represent him in a positive way. pet finds herself smiling more, looking better, feeling better from within, and basically being a better person. While her Master is a constant fixture in her mind, she carries herself as the strong, beautiful (gorgeous as Master puts it), and intelligent woman that Master sees her as. Through you Master, pet believes. While this is profound spiritually and intellectually, she still seems to fall prey to the desires of her flesh. She seeks things that are tangible instead of just believing in their existence and trusting that though she cannot see, hear, touch, or taste them, they are still there. Meaning, you are always there.

Why can she not let go of the past and just accept that which is and trust her beloved Master? pet must let go of past hurts, yet not forget them...she must completely surrender to you for her desires to be met. Why does she insist on holding onto those past hurts? Perhaps she is just afraid that if she does, Master will leave her like so many before him.

Yet, in not letting go...she gains nothing.
